Happy One Month to Miles

It is so hard to believe that our little man is 1 month old today!!! Goodness...where does the time go! I had a "mini photo session" to celebrate this day. It is amazing how many pictures you take when you are a parent. I thought I took too many pictures before Miles was born!

We have enjoyed seeing Miles get bigger and begin to develop his own personality of sorts. Here are some of his 1 month milestones.

  • I am now 10 lbs and 23" long.
  • I am starting to focus on faces and lights. I love looking up at the ceiling at lights.
  • I grunt constantly even though sometimes I don't have a poopy diaper.
  • I've started to make other unique noises that sound like ooo's and ahhh's.
  • I eat CONSTANTLY. This is probably why I am 10lbs.
  • I don't sleep all night just yet, but I am getting better.
  • I love to sleep with my noise maker on.
  • I am starting to enjoy bathtime.
  • I am beginning to lose my hair.
  • I can no longer wear newborn clothes. I am now wearing 3 months or 3-6 months outfits.

Daddy's Got a Big Buck....in the House!

Matt killed this deer back before we even knew Miles was a Miles. He has been waiting since that day to go pick up his mounted deer and since we were in the Memphis area yesterday, we did just that. You should have seen the car....Matt was driving and Roxie was riding shotgun. In the back seat, were Luke, Miles and I, and the stroller and deer head was in the very back. Needless to say, we were pretty much packed to the gills in our little Murano.

Once we got to West Memphis to Honey's house, Matt took his deer inside to compare them to all of my dad and Joe's prized kills.

What a wall!!

This is where the deer is at our house....yes, guys, I let my husband put his deer inside. I'm a good wife!!

Hopefully, Miles can kill him a deer this big some day. That means more deer meat for me!! Yum, yum!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Tuesday afternoon we ventured to West Memphis to watch Uncle Joe pitch. It was Miles' first baseball game and first big outing. He did so great!! He just looked around the entire time like he knew what was going on. He also got some lovin from Honey, Meemaw, Papaw and Randi. Joe's team lost, but he did a good job pitching.

Honey is snuggling up to her Miles and Miles is enjoying his Honey time!

Go Uncle Joe!!

Joe is pitching in this picture, but you can't see him very well.

Miles is hanging out with Randi. He held on to her necklace for the longest time, and just looked at her trying to figure out who she was. He is so alert.

Mommie Cica and Ne Ne's Visit

My cousin, Cara (aka Mommie Cica), and my Aunt Denise (NeNe) drove from Hot Springs, AR to come and see little man yesterday and today. Cara hasn't met him yet because she couldn't come to his birth, so, I was so thrilled to see her with Miles. She learned how to change a diaper, got to feed Miles, and give him plenty of kisses. We also took Miles out to dinner with all four of us last night for the first time and of course he slept right through it!!

Miles LOVES to eat!!!!!!!!

Cara's first diaper change

NeNe loves her Miles

Matt hasn't used one of his favorite presents yet, so, he decided to get out the baby bjorn to see if Miles liked it. I think Miles enjoyed it, but Matt liked it more!

And I just HAD to post this picture of Miles in his Polo outfit that he wore to his first dinner outing. He looks like a little frat boy!!

A big thank you to Cara and Denise for coming to visit and bringing Miles some treats!! We love you both!

Honey's visit

Honey came to visit us today, which was such a delight!! We hung out and I got to get out of the house for a little while. It was nice getting away, and I think Matt enjoyed some quality time with Miles. He has been working for the past couple of days and hasn't gotten to see Miles as much, so, he needed some guy time.

Even though it was nice to get out and about, I still missed my little man and my Matt!! It is always good to come home to two guys that you love more than anything.

Thanks, Honey, for coming to see us!! We love you very much!

Three Weeks Old

Miles is 3 weeks old today!! My goodness time has flown by. It seems just like yesterday that he was born. I've always heard that children grow up so fast and now I believe it.

Miles is doing so good. He sleeps at night and only gets up every 2 hours or so to eat, and then he usually goes right back to sleep. Another good and fun thing is that he is awake during the day a lot more. I enjoy talking and singing to him. He is also getting bigger by the minute it seems like! I call him my "chunky monkey". He loves to eat, but I guess he gets that honest from his daddy!

I am enjoying getting to spend quality time with my little prince and I am so thankful for this gift God has chosen me and Matt to take care of.

You might notice the little bumps on his sweet face...it is newborn acne. It looks so bad, but is actually clearing up. Dr. Blake says it is totally normal and should clear up on its own.

Splish splash I was Taking a Bath....

We gave Miles his first "REAL" bath last night. We have just been giving him sponge baths up until now because his cord was still attached. It finally came off and we got to bathe our baby in his tub.

Scrub-a-dub-dub

All clean and dry!!

Two Weeks Old..

I can't believe my baby is 2 weeks old!! We went for his 2 week well baby this past Tuesday. He now weighs 8lbs and 15 oz and is over 21 inches long. He is a growing boy, but I knew he would be. Afterall, he is Matt's son!! Dr. Blake says Miles looks and sounds great and we only hope he will continue to be healthy.

This is Miles at 1 week old.

This is the cute outfit he wore to his doctor's visit. Of course he peed in it not too long after we got back home, so, I'm glad I snapped this picture in time.

My sweet little man at 2 weeks old. Goodness how time flies!!

To Honey and Jo-Pa's house we go....

We went to see Honey, Jo-Pa and Uncle Joe this past weekend. Miles did great in the car ride there and back. He slept the whole time, which meant for some sleepless nights!! We got to see some friends for a wedding shower and celebrate Uncle Joe's 18th birthday.

First visit to the doctor

Miles, Matt and I ventured out of the house on Friday, March 2nd for Miles' first trip to the doctor. It is amazing how long it takes to get ready with a newborn!! His visit went great...Dr. Maley said he has amazing color and wasn't jaundiced.

Getting ready for home sweet home!!

We finally got to leave the hospital on February 29th after 9:00 pm. We had to wait at least 24 hours after Miles' first feeding so that the doctors could do his newborn screening.

Teamwork!!

I think he looks ready to go!!!

Home at last!!!

Miles and Daddy

It has been such a treasure seeing Matt bond with Miles. He is becoming quite the Dad. He changes dirty diapers without flinching. He helps me feed Miles in the middle of the night and he spends all kinds of time with his sweet son. I am so thankful for my husband and I am proud of the man he is!!

Sweet face

Miles loves his daddy.

Miles and Dad watching tv...SO CUTE!!!

Meeting Miles

We had about a dozen people show up to meet Miles when he graced us with his presence. We are so thankful for our friends and family that showed up to celebrate his arrival.

I love this picture....the grandmothers Honey and Mimi doting on their new bundle of joy!

I didn't think you could get this many people in 1 room!!
